Highland Cow in a field

The rules

Anyone who is a member of the Highland Cattle Society can enter their cattle. Cattle must be registered with the Society too.

Bulls must be birth notified if under 14 months old.

One photograph is required, showing the whole animal. Please can you make the photo about 2MB, larger pics such as 5MB will be okay, but anything bigger and your email (and ours) might start to complain!

There must be no person seen in the photograph, or anything that easily identifies the fold. This means you can take the photo in a field, on the moor, in the woods or in the yard dressed, on a halter, as long as we can’t see you!

You can enter one animal per class, so your maximum number of entries could be eight.

Photographs should be taken anytime from now until the closing date.

Entries can be sent from 25 June and entries close on 8 July 2020.

How to enter

Send the entries by email and you must do the following for each class you are entering:

  • Attach the photograph to the email

  • In the email subject line, include the class number and the UK number of the animal being entered

  • Repeat this in the body of the email and add the animal’s date of birth and your fold name

Please do not submit photographs that have been photoshopped.

Entry fees

The entry fee is £5 per class with all proceeds donated to RSABI and RABI.
